Sparke Helmore, Melbourne is the latest collaboration on spaces we have completed, with their property team, in the roll-out of their newly created workspaces across Australia. The latest space in Melbourne aims to embrace the National Design Guidelines created during the pilot project for Sparke in Canberra and continued into their offices in Adelaide. As a point of difference in the Melbourne workspace we have further stretched their ways of working and collaborating through the link between the breakout space the usually segregated client facing areas. The Melbourne team were open the idea of breaking down these barriers and making the breakout a multi-use, collaborative space that can be used by clients and visitors also.
To give a subtle connection and continuation of the brand aesthetic created in the design standards we once again encompassed the “traditional materials detailed in a modern way” aesthetic in the design details and aesthetic which is reflective of the respect and longevity of the brand. From the decorative marble reception style to the polished plaster wall as a back drop to the contemporary signage and brass details, the materials show both elements coming together. As a reflection of the proud Australian history the firm represents, the timber panelling, lighting details and meeting tables all have ‘native gum flat’ as their chosen finish. The finishes have stood the test of time and have shown longevity and relevance across all spaces into the current iteration (4 years on from the first project in Canberra)
