The new space of More Tangerine was a very exciting opportunity to create a space that breathed new life into the newly merged brand of More & Tangerine & brought a new lease on life following a stagnated & somewhat disconnected recovery from the COVID lockdowns. The resulting “home-work space” is one which has invigorated staff about the prospect of returning to workspace and bonded the teams in ways which were not possible in their past environments. The space is fluid, uplifting and adaptable to the needs of the varied cross-section of roles & working/collaboration styles across the organisation.

The merging of the More & Tangerine brands also presented opportunities for a new image & brand for both companies and their coming together in one space. Respecting & representing both brands cohesively was important to both organisations. To do so the team at CIA focused on integrating the support colours from the new brand guidelines in order to not conflict with the strong “more” and “tangerine” brand colours of Orange and Yellow. Throughout the space there are hints of the blush pink and other backing colours that enhance the overall brand and relaxed feel of the space. The overall colour scheme is soft and subtle further enhancing the “home-work space” vibe.

As always, we have ensured one of the main design elements is the inclusion of nature and the integration of natural elements. In doing so we believe it naturally calms and makes all feel relaxed as they would be in nature. To achieve the “anti-office” vibe we incorporated desks in a natural timber finish throughout, greenery at the entry point and blurred the lines between greeting/waiting/meeting/working in the entire environment. The blurring of such lines makes the spaces feel more fluid & promote incidental collaboration across all teams. Upon arrival there is no wall blocking the view to the staff area or the view beyond. Instead there is a green wall, integrating natural planting and the brand whilst still retaining some transparency.

Beyond the main working and collaboration floor the leaders of the More & Tangerine brand dedicated and entire floor (level 9) to just breakout, lunching, meeting, relaxing and games. Instead of just maximising headcount they have focused on giving back to those that do venture into the office through the dedication of this floor to anything but “work” The staff have welcomed this new way of collaborating and casual sharing of ideas, so much that they have transformed this into their main space to collaborate, relax and brainstorm ideas with fellow teams that they may never have even bumped into before in the standard work environment

The space is one which has proven successful in bringing their teams and staff together. In the launch event of the brand and the new home-workspace it was clear that the staff want to return to the office to connect, collaborate & bring together new ideas for a brand that is growing at the speed of light. The space we have created in collaboration with the leaders of More & Tangerine is evidence that great design can in fact draw staff back into workspaces, re-invigorating their brand, work ethic & create connections that will drive the success of the business into the future.
